Laughing Gas (Minimal Inhaled Sedation)

Ideal if you're nervous about an upcoming procedure but want to avoid being deeply sedated. We'll pump a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a nose mask, which you'll breathe through as directed. As you breathe it in, you'll feel less nervous and may notice a floaty or dreamy feeling, though you won't fall asleep and will remain aware of what's happening. Side effects are minimal, and the sedation wears off within minutes of the mask being removed, so you can drive yourself home and get back to your day right after treatment.

Oral Conscious Sedation

This method uses a strong pill or liquid sedative taken about 30 to 60 minutes before your appointment. Once it takes effect, you'll feel groggy and tired, and in some cases may fall asleep during the procedure. Anterograde amnesia is common with this method, meaning you may not remember much of the appointment afterward.

IV Sedation

IV sedation delivers medication directly into the bloodstream, creating a deeper state of relaxation. Patients typically enter a semi-conscious, sleep-like state and remain unaware of the procedure. For safety, someone must accompany you and drive you home afterward.
