Remain Calm

It’s important to stay calm, even though an unexpected dental injury can cause real stress and pain. Almost any dental issue can be addressed, treated, and resolved by our dentist, and our team is here to guide you back to a healthy smile.

Reduce Bleeding

If your mouth is bleeding from an injury or accident, place a strip of gauze over the affected area and apply pressure. This should slow the bleeding within about an hour.

Control Swelling & Pain

Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or a similar over-the-counter medication can temporarily reduce pain and swelling. Avoid blood-thinning medications like aspirin, since they can make it harder to control bleeding. An ice pack applied to the cheek near the affected area can also help reduce pain for a short period.
